Bellevue Fire Station 3

Bellevue Fire Station 3 formally used a gas-fired boiler, four roof-top AC units, VAVs, and two air handlers to heat and cool the station. There used to be a building control system, but its function was questionable. In the summer of 2013, the system was demolished and replaced with two constant volume high-efficiency roof-top heat pumps and new thermostats. The project coincided with a project to allow for longer ladder trucks in the apparatus bay by removing the old HVAC mezzanine area. Lighting on the main floor of the station was updated in 2011 to a mix of LED, T-5, and T-8 fluorescent. The basement was updated in 2010, and is primarily used for storage. Seven firefighters are now on duty at Station 3 (formally it was six). The building size is 16,462 square feet.
