City Emissions Comparison Snapshots
This page compares emissions by resource type for twelve of the fifteen member jurisdictions participating in the K4C partnership for our "core emissions" -- or about 80% of the total. Core emissions include building energy (natural gas and electricity) and passenger car emissions. Please visit Seattle and King County for their detailed emissions inventory.
Note: all electricity emissions are converted using the NWPP eGrid ("Location-based"), and a utility-specific emissions factor ("Market-based" e.g. Seattle City Light or PSE). The ability to dual report these emissions based on the utility and the grid now allows you to compare your electricity fuel mix on a regional basis (reflecting the electron flow and market trading that occurs on a grid basis) to emissions directly related to a utility supplier (based on contracts and procurement decisions of the utility).
